Keeping yourself fit and healthy is indispensable and needs to be dealt with seriously. We often ignore the important of fitness, whereas undoubtedly fitness is essential for excellent performance of the body. Fit energetic people possess a lot of stamina and resistance in their bodies and can persistently carry out various tasks without getting tired sooner. Though there are certain rules for one to tag along in order to maintain fitness and good health.

Fitness Guidelines:

• Proper food

Remember, the food you eat determines what you are! This means that your health can be reasonably judged by the kind of food you eat. Make it a habit of eating the right food and in the correct amount. Mainly, human body stays fit if a person adds fresh fruits and vegetables (anytime at breakfast, lunch or dinner) to his diet chart. Wheat, Rice, meat –then again, considered healthiest foods – should be made an essential component of the diet. One should always bear in mind that the intake of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and minerals should all be in a proper proportion. Want to keep the doctor away, have an apple everyday!

Not just that, try to maintain a proper timing of taking the meal every day. Skipping meals - which now has become a common habit in many - may lead to devastating effects. If possible a dietician may be consulted for marinating a balanced diet, with all the essential nutrients.

• Right exercises

Adopt exercising in your daily routine. It should be made an integral part of your every day life. There are plenty of exercises. But right exercises at the right time will only result in eventual body fitness. Fitness experts recommend doing exercises early in the morning since your body is fresh and relaxed after a good night’s sleep.
Commonly recommended exercises include Forward bend, Side stretch, Push ups, Front press and others. Apart from these, early morning walk, swimming, cycling, skiing, jogging even dancing are considered some good methods of exercising.

• Sports-

As the proverb goes ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.’ It specifies that games and sports in a person’s life are as indispensable as eating food and breathing air. You don’t have to know many sports for this purpose. Even if you outshine at any one particular type of sport which can be anything like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Rugby etc. you can get a way with it!
There is not better exercise than playing sports.

• Mental Fitness

The suggested method to keep your mental health perfect is by reducing your work load and pressure, since it can be very distressful and disturbing. So to keep the mental condition calm, quiet and energetic, meditation is required. Just try it and you will never be at a loss! Consider doing Yoga for a change. Yoga just not helps you remain physically fit. It provides you a greater degree of mental relaxation.Your body is God’s gift to you. So cherish it and take care of your well-being. Stay hale and hearty and enjoy your, life to the fullest.

How To Get Rid Of Dandruff Tips

It can be very embarrassing and hard to manage

1) General Dandruff Information: Dandruff is a common skin condition that causes excessive amounts of dead skin to flake from the scalp. People with dandruff experience an unusually fast rate of skin renewal and flaking, which causes the dead skin to fall onto the shoulders and neck in excessive amounts. Dandruff is not a serious condition, but it can be very embarrassing and hard to manage. There is no real cure for dandruff as cells continue to die, but the condition may be minimized to a more manageable state with proper treatment and nutrition.

2) Possible Causes of Dandruff: Dandruff is caused by trauma, stress, tension, hormonal imbalance, dermatitis seborrhea, improper carbohydrate consumption and excessive intake of sugar. Vitamin deficiencies can also lead to dandruff. Dandruff usually worsens in the winter months. Some people think dandruff is caused by infrequent shampooing. This is not true; however, an existing case of dandruff can be worsened by sporadic hair washing.

3) Possible Symptoms of Dandruff: The main symptom of dandruff is the presence of flaky skin in and around the scalp area. The scales can vary in size from small dust-like particles to large, greasy, yellow flakes. Some cases of dandruff are accompanied by itching. Toothpaste that rebuilds enamel ?

LONDON: British scientists have developed a toothpaste that they claim contains a liquid form of calcium and can help in treating sensitive teeth by rebuilding the tooth enamel.

People with sensitive teeth experience pain and discomfort after consuming hot or cold food, liquid or breathing cold air. This problem often occurs when gums recede and the tooth roots are exposed. They are not covered by hard enamel, the protective outer layer of the tooth.

Arm and Hammer's enamel care toothpaste produced by Church and Dwight Co., the world's leading manufactures of a wide range of personal care, household and specialty products is said to contain a liquid form of calcium, the key component of tooth enamel.

The liquid calcium rebuilds the tooth by plugging microscopic gaps in the enamel. The repair stops dental nerves from becoming exposed thereby preventing pain, reported online edition of Daily Mail.

Dentist Graham Barnby, who tested the new product at his clinics in south England, said, "This is a unique product. Current toothpastes aimed at people with sensitive teeth simply mask the pain while this one solves the problem."

The toothpaste, which has been five years in the making, will be available in Britain by the end of this month at 3.49 pounds for a 75 ml tube before going on sale in the U.S.

The problem of dental sensitivity increases with age as teeth become more sensitive as a result of gum recession or erosion of the enamel by acidic food and drink.

10 rules to stay young..!!!

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height.Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay "them!"

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who
is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets,
keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9 Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Chicken-Pox Tips

Risks or side effects of the new chicken-pox vaccine?
Answer: ‘The chicken-pox vaccine is usually well tolerated,’ says E. Lawrence Hoder, MD, from the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts. ‘The most common side effects associated with the vaccine are pain and redness at the injection site.
Other reported side effects include respiratory tract illness, chills, fever, irritability, fatigue, sleep disturbance, gastrointestinal disturbance, rashes, itching, and joint and muscle aches, although these symptoms have not yet been positively identified as being vaccine related. Approximately three to five percent of vaccinated individuals develop a chickenpox-like rash within 5 to 30 days from vaccination.
Causes
Chicken pox is caused by exposure to a highly contagious airborne varicella-zoster virus (VZV). The illness typically begins with fever, malaise and a rash. The rash begins as flat red patches that evolve into patches with a central blister, the classic “dew drop on a rose petal.” These patches then dry and scab. New eruptions occur daily for four to seven days. The average child gets a total of 500 chicken pox sores.
Complications in healthy children are unusual but include secondary skin bacterial infections, neurologic complications, hepatitis and Reye’s Syndrome (a serious illness that can cause recurrent vomiting, liver problems and seizures). For most children, chicken pox will be a fairly benign illness. The economic consequences due to lost time at work for caregivers usually far outweighs any health risk. For adults and immunocompromised persons, however, infection with chicken pox may cause severe complications, such as pneumonia that requires hospitalization.
“Once a person has had chicken pox, he or she will usually have a lifelong immunity to the disease,” says Dr. Hoder. “Rarely, however, a person will experience a second, milder case of chicken pox later in life.” It is important for parents to understand that having the vaccine may not provide such protection. The need for revaccination has not yet been determined. Similar to measles vaccine, a “booster” dose may be required.
Vaccinations
Currently, the American Association of Pediatricians recommends a vaccination for all susceptible children greater than one year of age. As of August 1998, the State of Massachusetts requires the vaccine (or a physician-certified reliable history of chicken pox) for entrance into daycare or preschool for children who are 19 months or older and who were born on or after January 1997; by the 1999-2000 school year, vaccinations will be required for entrance into kindergarten or for those children already in school, for entrance into 7th grade.
When Not to Vaccinate
The chicken pox vaccine should not be administered to adults or children who have the following conditions:

* A history of hypersensitivity to any component of the vaccine, including gelatin
* A history of an allergic reaction to neomycin
* Blood disorders (other than simple anemia) or cancer
* A condition or treatment resulting in an immunosuppressed state, for example, immunoglobulin deficiency, AIDS, or corticosteroid therapy
* A family history of an immunodeficiency
* Active, untreated tuberculosis
* Any illness that produces a fever
* Pregnancy (or a considered pregnancy in the three-month period following administration of the vaccine)

Precautions
Individuals who receive the vaccine should avoid taking aspirin (salicylate) for at least six weeks after the vaccination. Because vaccinated individuals may be able to transmit the virus to close contacts, vaccinated persons should avoid close association with susceptible, high-risk persons. This risk of transmission is probably small and is more likely to occur if the vaccinated individual developed a rash after vaccination.
